Planning, design, and construction of a Layover Facility and tracks for storage and light servicing of existing Amtrak trains serving Main Street Station in Richmond, VA. It will also accommodate planned service growth through 2030. This project is necessary as part of the Transforming Rail in Virginia initiative, as it will reduce rail congestion in and near CSX’s Acca yard in Richmond, VA – between Staples Mill Station and Richmond Main Street Station.
